Extending a PL App Border in My Memories
The page background in the PL app creates a very small border around the edge of the page and this might not be enough for your print service if they tend to lose a bit off the edge - even worse if they lose a bit off one edge. You can increase the size of the border easily in My Memories. The program will export a true 12" x 12" for printing, you're not affecting the overall print size.
This tutorial shows you how to extend the border in My Memories. Click HERE to see how to do it in Picmonkey.

Set up your My Memories page
Follow the instructions in this tutorial up to the point where you have your layout in the photo box and no background, like this. (Do NOT add a shadow to your photo box!)
Now, in the background tab on the right, instead of clicking on Add click on Color:
The colour swatch window will appear. Click on Picker at the top:
Using your mouse, click on the border of the page in the little thumbnail. This can take some practice when you're trying to match the colour of small objects but you should find it easy enough with a page border. Click OK when you see the colour change to the one you want in the preview at the bottom of the window:
Your page will now look like this. You can't see the join (unless you added a shadow to the photobox by mistake ....)
Save your page - go HERE if you don't know how to do that - or continue editing. You can make the border smaller by making your centre picture bigger. Click on the middle of the page and you will be able to see the gray boxes around your picture box so that you can see what you're doing. You can also add a matte of a different colour to your centre photo box to create multiple borders. Tips on that to follow shortly.
If you do change the size of the main picture, add mattes etc bear in mind you are altering the size of the outside border and you might want it to be consistent if you're making pages to be printed in a book otherwise it looks weird. The reason we use the page guides built in to the program (Click CTRL-R to see or remove them) is the size is about right and it's easy to create the same size border on each page.
